It seems like there is still no love lost between Trevor Zegras and the Anaheim Ducks.
In his first game against his former team on Tuesday, the Philadelphia Flyers forward scored two first-period markers to help his team to a 5-2 win.
How did it feel to score those two goals? Ear muffs, kids.
"(Expletive) amazing, (expletive) amazing," Zergras said in a post-game interview on the NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcast.
Zegras wasn't done there, however, as he took another shot at the Ducks following the very next question.
On the 24-year-old's first goal of the night, he celebrated by pretending to hang up a phone.
Why?
"That's about how quick the phone call was before, so I thought it'd be good," Zegras said in reference to the phone call he received when he was traded to Philly by the Ducks in June.
Zegras was the Ducks' first-round pick in 2019, and had two 60-point seasons early in his NHL career.
But Zegras struggled with injuries and consistency the past two seasons, scoring just 47 points in 88 combined games. He had 12 goals and 20 assists in 57 games last season, increasing his production at mid-season after a slow start and a 22-game absence with a knee injury.
The Ducks decided to trade him to the Flyers this off-season in exchange for Ryan Poehling and the 45th-overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
The move has seemed to benefit the young forward, as through 42 games with the Flyers this season, he has 19 goals and 24 assists.
And based on his post-game interview Tuesday, it's clear that he's not going to let the Ducks forget who they gave up on anytime soon.
